Wonder if You Should Seed Landscaping in the Autumn or Springtime?

By Brian Brown

Ever wonder whether or not you should be doing landscape planting for your bushes, perennials, sod as well as other plants in the spring or the falltime? The majority of people don't even think about this. Many people wait around for springtime to return for the landscape to start. Its a very prevalent misunderstanding.

Planting the landscape in the falltime is ideal. The scorching temperatures of This year exemplified the value of falltime landscape planting more than any year we have witnessed in a very long while.

2012 proved to be extremely warm and waterless for Olathe landscaping. There seemed to be a whole lot of plant lose for a number of our landscape clients. The heavily committed landscaping fanatics came into fall having a great deal of their landscape perish.

It was the spring planted landscape that was taking the toughest hit. Clients that had planted in the falltime however had zero problems with keeping their landscape alive. Would you like to understand the reason why? Let's talk about it.

You want a solid root system for the landscaping and autumn planting will do just that. Having a solid and penetrating root system will be critical for the landscape to flourish. If your landscaping only has a superficial root system it'll be barely surviving in the high temperature to find the water it needs to endure.

Bare in mind, the 2012 Landscaping Apocalypse our landscaping endured had been a rare year of heat. Putting together their landscaping during the spring season does not mean your landscape will absolutely perish however. Should we have a great year you'll likely be okay. Nonetheless, this year does offer undeniable evidence to the force of falltime landscaping.

This is a question though, if fall planted landscape managed to get through the drought, how good will fall landscaping thrive throughout a year of flourishing? On that note, if you take care of your landscaping right now prior to winter, you'll have a lot less required maintenance and plant watering next spring and summer because the deep soil water will be doing the majority of the heavy lifting for you.

To conclude, the more common misunderstanding that spring season planting is the best way to go is simply not true. And it's also obviously a big bonus to not have to water and perform landscaping maintenance as much as you would have to with spring landscape planting. It's a mutually beneficial scenario for everybody.

Wonder if You Should Seed Landscaping during the Autumn or Springtime?

By Adam Kennedy

Do you know that planting your landscaping during the fall time is an ideal time? If you didn't realize, it is fine since most people do not. Most people wait around for spring season to return for the landscaping to start. It is a very prevalent misconception.

Planting your landscaping during the fall is best. And the drought we have confronted this season has shown that to be true.

2012 proved to be very warm and waterless for Olathe landscape. There seemed to be a great deal of plant lose for many of our landscape customers. The heavily dedicated landscaping lovers came into fall seeing a great deal of the landscaping die.

One thing that we did observe is that all the landscaping which was withering had been landscaping which had been planted during the spring. An interesting thing is the fact that there were not any kind of difficulties with those that planted during the fall time of 2011. There is a very simple answer why this is.

You want a sturdy root system for your plants and fall time planting does just that. Having a robust and deep root system is crucial for your landscape to flourish. You see, the lower you go into the dirt, the more water there is. Landscaping that has superficial roots will probably have trouble staying alive during the high heat.

Now, the 2012 Landscaping Apocalypse we experienced had been a one off year of heat. Don't be overly afraid that if you don't plant during the fall of This year your 2013 landscape will die. If we have a great year you will likely be fine. This high amount of heat we all have experienced this season has proven the fact that landscaping in the fall makes for strong plants.

Here's a question though, if autumn planted landscaping made it through the drought, how well will fall time landscaping thrive during a season of amazing weather? With that said, if you take care of your landscaping now before winter, you will have a great deal less required maintenance and watering next summer because the deep soil moisture is going to be doing a lot of the work for you.

It's simply not true that putting together your landscaping in the spring is the best time of the year to do your landscaping. And it is obviously a definite plus to not be required to water and do landscape maintenance as much as you should with springtime planting.

Olathe Landscape Business Talks Fall vs Springtime Planting

By Larrry Lewis

Are you aware that growing landscaping in the fall time is the best time? Most of the people don't think about it. Actually, the most frequent thing we hear from our customers whenever it comes to putting together their landscaping is "we will just wait until spring to setup our landscaping."

Planting your landscaping during the fall time is best. And the drought we have experienced this season has shown that.

2012 was very tough for landscaping as a whole. This year proved to be incredibly hot and waterless for Olathe landscaping. There was a whole lot of plant death for a number of our landscape clients. Even the really determined landscaping fanatics ended the summer having a great deal of their landscape die.

It was the spring planted landscape that was taking the absolute hardest hit. An interesting thing is that there wasn't any difficulties with people who planted during the fall time last year. There is a very simple reason this can be.

You want a sturdy root system for the plants and autumn planting does just that. If you want your landscape to thrive and live, a deeply rooted root system is a must. You see, the lower your root system goes in to the ground, the more water there is. Landscaping that has superficial roots will probably have trouble staying alive during the burning summers.

Don't be overly afraid that if you do not plant during the fall of This year the 2013 landscaping will perish. If we have a great year you'll likely be good. This high amount of high temperature we have experienced during 2012 has shown the fact that landscaping during the autumn produces very strong plants.

Imagine how well your autumn rooted landscape is going to do if we do have an excellent year in 2013. On that note, if you take care of your landscaping right now before the winter season, you'll have a great deal less needed maintenance and watering next year since the deep soil moisture content will be doing a lot of the hard work for you.

In conclusion, the regular misunderstanding that springtime planting is the ideal approach to take is simply not accurate. If you want a much healthier landscape at your home for the summer pre-winter landscape planting is the way to go. And it's always a major plus to not be required to water and perform landscape upkeep as much as you'll have to with springtime landscape planting. It's always a win win situation for everybody.

Great Ideas For Association Ground Maintenance

By Roland Stockwell

When you must deal with the day-to-day care of the grounds of your homeowner association, it can be tough to stay on top of all of the important tasks. If you are dealing with how to keep grass green, plants thriving and water clean, consider the following tips.

Grass is certainly pretty and makes everything look lush but it is absolutely one of the most difficult plants to maintain in terms of work and cost. Minimizing your grass is a great way to reduce your maintenance costs, so consider just having a few areas with grass instead of all over the complex or neighborhood. When selecting a grass, be sure you select a variety that will work well in your area and is suited to the climate and most importantly, the soil conditions.

Also consider using natural, organic fertilizer instead of chemicals. Organic products tend to make the soil more nutrient-rich, so this will improve your grass. Good soil is a much better deterrent to weeds than using chemicals, as weeds are often a sign that something is out of balance with your soil. Be sure the grounds crew does not cut the grass too low, as shorter grass is actually less healthy. When watering, consider giving the grasses a good morning soak just a few times each week instead of watering a little bit each day.

Plants, trees and shrubs are beautiful enhancements for the grounds, but choosing the wrong types can be a costly mistake. Choose native plants and trees, as these typically require much less maintenance. This is especially important in areas prone to drought, as water is scarce and very expensive. Your homeowners will thank you for conserving water and conserving their monthly fees.

If you also have some type of water feature on the grounds, perhaps a pond or even a lake, then you have another item on your maintenance list. To keep the water safe and clean, you will need to treat it, but that doesn't mean you will have to spend a great deal of time or money. In fact, there are chemical-free products available that are not only easy to use but are safe for birds, fish, pets and other wildlife and also keep the water looking pristine.

The AquaSpherePro, for example, is a biodegradable product that uses a propriety blend of bacteria to reduce excess nutrients such as phosphorous and nitrogen as well as eliminating the build-up of organic matter. All you have to do is toss in enough spheres to accommodate the amount of gallons in the pond. They will begin to break down over time and last for up to 30 days. After that, you simply add a new set of spheres to keep problems at bay.

Use These Tips For A Successful Garden

By Kassi T Norington

A garden is not just something you do to decorate. Anyone can enjoy this hobby from an amateur to someone with a very green thumb. Becoming involved in gardening is a great way to find peace in your life, and gain an appreciation for the world around you. Once you develop some skill, you can make a profound effect.

Try to have a plan with your garden. Doing this makes it easier to keep track of where you planted what when you first start to see sprouts. This is also a great way to keep track of all your plants.

Shelter your deciduous shrubs. Any potted shrubs should be sheltered in the winter from cold weather. Tie the canes together, and drape a sheet or blanket over the top of the wigwam. Doing this is a lot more effective than wrapping up the plant with plastic because it lets air circulate, which could avoid any rotting.

Start your plant in pots before you plant them in your garden. Doing this betters your odds of your plants making it to adulthood. The period between plantings will also be shorter. When you take out the prior set of adult plants, your seedlings will then be prepared to go in.

Take the time to spread around five centimeters of organic mulch near your vegetable plants. Mulch keeps soil moist for longer periods of time. This is also efficient in preventing weeds from growing. You will benefit by not having to spend so much time fighting weed growth.

Beautiful insects are attracted to heather when you plant it. Bees like heather, and they get their nectar from it early in the spring. If your heather bed is undisturbed, as it would be in nature, many beneficial insects will make it their home. Because of this, you should put on a pair of gloves when it's time to prune the heather.

Separate irises. If you split up clumps of them, you will eventually have more of this flower. When you see the foliage is definitely dead, lift up the bulbous irises. The bulbs, when harvested, should easily split by hand - allowing you to replant them for even more blooms next spring. Make use of a knife to split up rhizomes. Get rid of the center and keep the new pieces you cut from the outside. Be sure to retain a sturdy offshoot on every piece that you intend to plant. Plant immediately.

Some annuals actually thrive better during the colder months. In order to make these plants presentable, be sure to prune them if they become too leggy. In just a few weeks, they will bloom prettily once again, contrasting the browns of usual winter foliage. Snapdragons, petunias and dianthus do the best in cool weather.

When planting anything, think about planting for color so that you have something to enjoy in the fall. It doesn't have to be this way, however. When it comes to vivid foliage, autumn offers the best opportunity to view it. Maple trees come in a variety of fall colors ranging from yellow to deep crimson, as do Beech trees and Dogwood. When thinking about shrubs, consider barberry, hydrangea and cotoneaster.

When you are mapping out your garden, you should consider the different kinds of vegetables you apply the greatest number of times in the kitchen. Once you have determined this, plant them. By planting your own vegetables, you will save a lot of money at the grocery store and also experience fresher, better-tasting food. If you have limited space you should not waste it by growing anything your family does not eat.

If you are planning on growing peas, start them indoors before putting them outdoors in your garden. The seeds will grow better in your home if planted there first. Seedlings raised indoors are hardier, too; they can stand up better to diseases and insects. Once the seedlings have become hardy enough to survive, you can transplant them to your outdoor garden.

Biennials and annuals are great if you would like to better your flower bed. These fast growth plants make flower beds vibrant, and they let you alter the appearance seasonally and annually. You can use them between the gaps in shrubs and perennials where there is plenty of sun. A variety of flowers that will thrive in your region are available.

Do you now see how gardening can be easier and even fun? Like anything else, gardening is a big subject and there is a lot of information concerning it. Sometimes, if you figure out where to begin, it's easy to "jump right in". With the tips provided in this article, you have the knowledge to start your own garden.
